What Did Tiger Woods Say? Plus.. 8 Golfers Who May Move to LIV in 2024

Today we begin by welcoming Ben back from vacation, but of course, the main discussion revolves around the potential movements of eight golfers to the LIV Golf Series.

We speculate about the likelihood of different players joining the series, using a scoring system to rate each player's chances and a magnificent spreadsheet created by Ben. We discuss various golfers in detail, such as Sungjae Im, Si Woo Kim, Tony Finau, and John Rahm, and consider potential new teams forming in the league.

The podcast also touches on other golf topics, like the Worldwide Technology Championship and player performances last week where Erik Van Rooyen won.

We discuss the branding and identity of golf events, comparing the PGA Tour and LIV Golf in that respect.

The episode includes comments on Tiger Woods' perceived "misunderstanding" of the LIV format, sparking a debate about the truthfulness and motives behind his statement.

Speaker:

Hello and welcome to Golf Lovers United,

where we discuss golf the fair way.

2

:

And today we're going to talk about eight

players who may or may not go to live.

3

:

We're going to talk about what the live

teams might look like next week and next

4

:

week even, next year.

5

:

Or it could be next week if you're

listening to this on New Year's Eve.

6

:

But we're also going to talk about the

worldwide tech championship that just went

7

:

on this week won by Mr.

8

:

Eric Van Heerooien and.

9

:

Ben and I, who is back from his vacation,

we may have a little mass debate together.

10

:

That's right, a debate together.

11

:

If you heard anything else, please switch

off until you're in a better frame of

12

:

mind.

13

:

That's right, we may mass debate together.

14

:

But without further ado, let me bring on

my two fantastic co-hosts, the one, the

15

:

only ProGolf critic, Jay.

16

:

How are you, my friend?

17

:

I'm doing well.

18

:

Everything feels right now that we have

everybody here.

19

:

We have a quorum of folks.

20

:

Welcome back, Ben.

21

:

I was joking with everybody last week that

we were going to turn you into golf lover.

22

:

You asked before this was over, but it

sounds, sounds like you had a great trip.

23

:

So, uh, yeah, let it, let us know how, how

it went.

24

:

And Ben, obviously at Golf Lover UK,

welcome back.

25

:

In order to turn you into Golf Lover US,

of course, you need to eat a lot of the

26

:

food that we don't get over here in the

UK, starting with, of course, copious

27

:

amounts of Hershey's that taste like

vomit.

28

:

Did you do that or did you not do that?

29

:

Because if you didn't...

30

:

Hershey's is trash.

31

:

It is, it's gritty and horrible.

32

:

Whenever an American comes over to the UK

and has English chocolate, they're always

33

:

like, Oh my God, this is so different.

34

:

When I played a Matt Wolf, I had some

chocolate in my bag and shared it.

35

:

Like every single American ever tries

English chocolate.

36

:

You get trash over there, but there we

are.

37

:

No, I had a great time.

38

:

It's great to be back.

39

:

I felt I had to come back because

obviously, um, Jay spoke for 97 hours

40

:

straight.

41

:

And it was, I enjoyed it because I love

you and you're a friend.

42

:

I can't believe people stayed tuned in.

43

:

I was out to be fair, I was trying to hang

up, but the browser was just not working.

44

:

I was like, I don't get out of this.

45

:

This is terrible.

46

:

No, I'm only kidding.

47

:

We enjoyed it last week and it was our

first YouTube session as well.

48

:

So do check us out.

49

:

Search for golf lovers at United over on

YouTube and wherever you get your podcast.

50

:

If you want to tell us that we are live

shills or PGA shills or trollers send us

51

:

emojis, gifts, or any kind of, well.

52

:

I don't want to say any kind of picture

that you want, but use your imagination.

53

:

You can do so over on X or Twitter, as

Elon Musk calls it when he's on Joe Rogan

54

:

at GLU Golf Club on the X or the Twitter.

55

:

And we're on Instagram as well.

56

:

Just do a search for golf lovers United.

57

:

All right, we're going to dive in there.

58

:

We've got well, Ben, you wanted to talk

about you've ever made notes this week,

59

:

which I think is highly professional and

wildly surprising.

60

:

You wanted to talk about eight golfers

that you think might end up alive.

61

:

How do you want to do this?

62

:

I think we, I think we've had a lot of

names come out and I think that Jay and I

63

:

are very lucky that we've got some great

connections inside of live and inside of

64

:

golf that we get some particles of

information and some semblances of what

65

:

might be happening in some discussions.

66

:

Jay and I've both been told there's

definitely one, probably two new teams

67

:

coming to live.

68

:

We've been told that by people that know

and would know and to get their

69

:

information is fantastic.

70

:

Um, so if you have anything else to share

with us, do let us know.

71

:

As you know, we never reveal our sources,

but we've been told there's one,

72

:

definitely two new teams, but I think it's

interesting to look at the new players and

73

:

maybe some of the formations of teams.

74

:

So I don't want to spend 45 minutes on

this because I think that some people will

75

:

get bored of it.

76

:

And we're going to cover a few other

things, aren't we?

77

:

Like the worldwide technology championship

and, and all that sort of stuff later.

78

:

But I just want to go into this and I want

to start and I'm going to ask.

79

:

I'm going to give you the name.

80

:

I want you to give me a score out of 10 of

where you, if they're going or not, 10

81

:

being they're definitely going their T in

it up, zero being they're desperate to be

82

:

on the TGL, they got no interest.

83

:

I will then give you my thoughts and then

I want you to give me why you got to that

84

:

score.

85

:

All right.

86

:

This sounds super complex.

87

:

We may as well, let's just keep trying to

say Worldwide Technology Championship,

88

:

because that's way less complex.

89

:

Ha ha.

90

:

pretended that watching Liv was.

91

:

Don't get on me started on this one.

92

:

We had a little mass debate earlier.

93

:

Don't say that.

94

:

on this tiger stuff.

95

:

Like I'm already fired up enough.

96

:

you cannot be.

97

:

that up so early.

98

:

Now we've got to just go back to the eight

players.

99

:

All right, go on.

100

:

We've got your rules.

101

:

You can't, all I'm gonna say is you can't

be the greatest golfer that's ever lived.

102

:

Be a golf savant and pretend you can't

understand shotgun starts, but there we

103

:

are.

104

:

Right.

105

:

So Sungjae, Sungjae Im is my first name,

but I'm gonna put him in a pair to come

106

:

over with Siwoo Kim.

107

:

Mark, what are your scores?

108

:

I'm going to write these down and then

when the live season starts, they're

109

:

recorded in my, in my notebook.

110

:

When the live season starts, we will go

back and see who was writing.

111

:

what level of right and wrong were you?

112

:

Because we'll be able to take that eight

out of 10 or three out of 10 and see how

113

:

right or wrong you were.

114

:

So Mark, some.

115

:

to you is a right old laugh.

116

:

How right was I?

117

:

I'm doing this.

118

:

yeah, you've got Sungjae and Siwoo Kim.

119

:

What's your score out of 10 for them

coming across?

120

:

I think they're pretty high just because

your logic was sound a few weeks ago.

121

:

So I'm I never give a 10 because you've

always got to save a bit, but I'm going to

122

:

go nine on these ones.

123

:

Jay?

124

:

Yeah, I had it as a 9.5.

125

:

The last episode we obviously focused on

ROM and we focused on Tony Finau.

126

:

There were a lot of other names I don't

wanna drop, but we already were at an

127

:

hour.

128

:

I wanted to save the rest of the names for

when we were a full unit.

129

:

So those are two of the names I was gonna

mention.

130

:

I could say a 10, except the...

131

:

Okay.

132

:

10 and their team will be Sung Jae-im,

Si-woo Kim, Kevin Na, and Danny Lee.

133

:

They will change the name from the

Ironheads.

134

:

They're all for South Korean lineage.

135

:

They are the South Korean team.

136

:

We've got a South Korean event coming up.

137

:

We know full well there are three South

Korean sponsors who've made an interest,

138

:

two of them publicly, two of them have

attended events you've been to, one of

139

:

attended event I've been to.

140

:

There will be a South Korean sponsor

sponsoring the South Korean team, which

141

:

will be Sung Jae-im.

142

:

Siwoo Kim, Kevin, Naren, Danny Lee, take

it to the bounce.

143

:

It's, it also sounds like the South Korea

event is actually gonna be the team

144

:

championship local location for next year.

145

:

That's not confirmed yet.

146

:

I've just been hearing that there's a lot

of, that would be gigantic.

147

:

So we'll have to see how that all plays

out, but that's what I've heard.

148

:

So you're both happy with that, that new

team, that role revamp team and those two,

149

:

all right, great, okay.

150

:

I know we spent a long time on Tony and

John, we're gonna touch on them now.

151

:

We don't need great detail.

152

:

What's your thoughts on Tony Fino coming

across next year for the next season?

153

:

Mark, give me your score.

154

:

Mm, I'm going to go seven on this one.

155

:

I'm going to go a seven on this one.

156

:

It would be lower if not for the financial

challenges that Jay brought up just

157

:

because, I don't know.

158

:

Just that's what I think.

159

:

What are you going for Jay?

160

:

Yeah, that's fair.

161

:

I'm going 10.

162

:

Everything that I've heard, like when our

podcast came out last week, I got feedback

163

:

from people that you would know that they

were like, oh yeah, there's some needle

164

:

movers that are coming over to live.

165

:

Yeah, I'm also going to go for it.

166

:

I can't go for the 10 because I can't have

two tens and another 10.

167

:

I'm going to go for 9.5.

168

:

I had a phone, I had a text message from

someone that every single person watching

169

:

this will know or know of who went, you

would you J Mark.

170

:

He's going.

171

:

I'm like, okay.

172

:

Right.

173

:

I said, how you shot.

174

:

I'm getting screwed here because I don't

get the text messages.

175

:

You guys are shitting on me.

176

:

This is bullshit.

177

:

I'm not going to play golf for you guys

because you'll be like, yeah, I got a text

178

:

from the superintendent of the course

telling me where to hit it on every single

179

:

shot.

180

:

I'm like, all right, okay.

181

:

This is, I'm out.

182

:

I'm out.

183

:

So.

184

:

the person said to me, the only reason he

doesn't go is if there is a complete and

185

:

utter change of heart, he feels he's gone,

but again, that could be wrong, but look,

186

:

I hope he goes, I love Tony Fina.

187

:

I think he'd be the gap.

188

:

Some of the gas that live needs with those

big names, right?

189

:

John Rahm, what we thinking?

190

:

she's a big Tony Finau fan.

191

:

Yeah, she loves Tony.

192

:

I heard the ladies do.

193

:

He's a very loyal family man, but I hear

that the ladies do love him.

194

:

So he's a good bloke, but he is eye candy.

195

:

He is the eye candy that Liv needs.

196

:

Cause let's face it, I love Westy.

197

:

I love Westy, met him a few times.

198

:

I love Polz, but I'm not sure they are

bringing in the ladies eyes.

199

:

No, I mean, you know, there was a peak for

those two as lookers.

200

:

And I'm just not sure it was 2023.

201

:

That's what I'm saying.

202

:

Love the guys.

203

:

And there's only so many times you can see

Bryson's blue eyes without it getting

204

:

boring because the ladies love him as

well.

205

:

And Jay, you've been to a live event.

206

:

The ladies follow Bryson around, don't

they?

207

:

It's unbelievable.

208

:

Are they all like, squat me, squat me,

press me, press me.

209

:

I made a protein, Bryson, eat me.

210

:

Ha ha ha.

211

:

Let's just say Bryson is, Bryson is very

active on Instagram and the Instagram

212

:

ladies, they love themselves some Bryson

DeChambeau, so let's.

213

:

that.

214

:

All I know is that when you walk a live

event, the percentage of women following

215

:

Bryson's group is way higher than any

other group.

216

:

Right.

217

:

What's our thoughts on Ram?

218

:

about this.

219

:

I'm going to have to consult with Mrs.

220

:

Pro Golf Critic about this because she's

the she she's the authority on this stuff.

221

:

So I will consult with her and then next

week I will come back to you guys with her

222

:

thoughts.

223

:

She's got some spicy takes.

224

:

She the listeners are not ready for her

spicy golf takes.

225

:

Let's just leave it at that for now.

226

:

We were meant to be doing these two

quickly.

227

:

What's Ram?

228

:

Mark, we're not even gonna talk about John

Ram, but just give me a score out of 10.

229

:

I'm gonna go a six again, unless you got a

text from John.

230

:

No, Jay.

231

:

So for 2024, I'm going to go seven, for

:

232

:

Okay, I'm going to go for a six as well.

233

:

Right, Adrian Moranque.

234

:

He to me is, yeah, he might be an eight.

235

:

He might be an eight early days, played

really consistently well on the DP World

236

:

Tour, which puts him in a position where

he must have a lot of leverage from a

237

:

financial perspective.

238

:

If you're going to go, you've got to go

while you're on the up.

239

:

So yeah, I would say maybe an eight.

240

:

I'm gonna go six just because we start to

like, you know, you start playing the

241

:

numbers game and if some of these other

guys, if they all go, they're starting to

242

:

talk about limited spots.

243

:

Like I wouldn't, yeah, so I'll leave it at

six, yeah.

244

:

Okay, I'm going to go, I'm doing myself a

double score, which I will allow you two

245

:

to do.

246

:

I'm going for Moranque for a six, but I'm

increasing it to a 10 if Victor goes.

247

:

Hmm.

248

:

Good point.

249

:

Do you two want to have an additional

score if Victor also goes?

250

:

I'll allow that.

251

:

No, I already did the double score for

ROM.

252

:

So I've already, you know, yeah.

253

:

what's your odds on Victor going?

254

:

I'm a four on Vic.

255

:

I think coming off the back of the Ryder

Cup, you know, he's, I think the time to

256

:

get him was 18 months ago.

257

:

I think he's ascended the heights now

where he feels, potentially feels like

258

:

there's a lot more that he can do from

where he is.

259

:

And he's got a chance to, I think he's got

a chance to become the next face of this,

260

:

especially if someone like Ram does start

to change his perspective.

261

:

So I'm going to say a fourth of it.

262

:

Jay?

263

:

Yeah, I was high on Victor earlier, but

I'm probably going to go with like a three

264

:

for now only because I feel like if he had

won a major this past year, it would be

265

:

like probably eight or nine.

266

:

But I know that's really important to him.

267

:

And then we start again, we run up against

this situation of spots and yeah, he'd be

268

:

a captive a new team, but I don't think

we're quite ready for him yet.

269

:

So yeah, I'm going to put it pretty low,

like a three or four.

270

:

I've gone for three.

271

:

I've gone low as well.

272

:

Um, I think it's either Victor comes

across, brings age and Moronk takes two of

273

:

the other Europeans and creates a new

European team, or it doesn't happen.

274

:

I think it's, it's that stark.

275

:

It's not, he goes and captains a team and

a few other people go along.

276

:

I think it, it'd be him, Moronk and a

couple of others, they form their big new

277

:

European team.

278

:

They call themselves the Vikings or

whatever they want to call themselves.

279

:

The berserkers, whatever you want to do.

280

:

The Vikings is used.

281

:

by Minnesota, you call yourself the

berserkers and you get a big flame red

282

:

bearded ball, like ginger, like with the

hair and the ponytails, whatever else it

283

:

might be.

284

:

You can do loads of stuff with that motif

because they managed to make a logo out of

285

:

a frog for Christ's sake.

286

:

So you can do it out of a berserker.

287

:

Right, Hideki Matsuyama, what are your

odds on Hideki going?

288

:

Not odds, what's your score out of 10?

289

:

Do you know, he feels like a six and a

half, seven as well.

290

:

It's again, maybe down to the spots, but

he feels, he feels like he's on the right

291

:

trajectory to want to seek something like

a live.

292

:

So yeah, I'm gonna go six and a half.

293

:

I'll stick to six and a half, yeah.

294

:

Okay, good.

295

:

J.

296

:

Uh, I'm going to go five just, just

because I don't know exactly.

297

:

I don't have any feeling one, uh, one way

or the other.

298

:

Like, yeah, I totally think he would, he

would be a huge get off for live.

299

:

I can't say I'm really a Hideki fan.

300

:

Like I understand the appeal with that

market, but I don't really feel strongly

301

:

one way or the other, so I'll say five.

302

:

I'm going seven and the reason is he

really wanted to go last year, but things

303

:

are put in place to stop him going.

304

:

And we know discussions were had with Golf

Japan.

305

:

We know that.

306

:

That's been made very, very clear.

307

:

I think there's still a big money offer

for him.

308

:

If he wants it, he's also had some back

injuries from playing lots of golf.

309

:

And I think he might like to go and play.

310

:

14 rounds of live golf where you only play

14 events when you play three rounds, not

311

:

26 events where you play four and play the

majors.

312

:

And I think that with Japanese golf and

the Hong Kong golf and that East Asian

313

:

golf being part of the live profile, I

can't remember the name of the Hong Kong

314

:

laddie, Jay, what's his name?

315

:

The amazing, the amazing young lad from

Hong Kong.

316

:

That's it.

317

:

Yeah.

318

:

There feels there could be something done

with a really good

319

:

Far East, Far East golf team as well.

320

:

So I just feel there's something to be

looked at there.

321

:

That's kind of why I've gone for that.

322

:

Right, okay.

323

:

Let's go to my last one.

324

:

Bringing in another major winner, Brian

Harmon.

325

:

I mean, for me, yeah, I think he's

probably like an eight just because no one

326

:

expected him to do what he did last year.

327

:

He had a decent ish Ryder Cup.

328

:

No one expects him to win the major.

329

:

Does anyone expect him to do it again?

330

:

I'm not entirely sure that they do.

331

:

So I think he's a bit of a bit of a

journeyman.

332

:

You know, I think he could be an eight

man.

333

:

I think it fits.

334

:

J?

335

:

Yeah, that's a great point.

336

:

I'm probably gonna go seven.

337

:

I could definitely see a couple teams that

would be really strong fits for Brian

338

:

Harmon.

339

:

I mean, I think Brian Harmon as a range

goat probably fits great, especially if

340

:

some of these other moves that I've heard

are in the bag.

341

:

Yeah, I think he'd be a great fit.

342

:

Yeah, so I'll say seven, but things can

always change.

343

:

But look, he's got his major exemptions.

344

:

the next five years, which is basically

going to be because he's in his late

345

:

thirties, which is basically his career.

346

:

Yeah, it's playing career.

347

:

So I mean, it makes a ton of sense to do

it now.

348

:

Okay, well, I'm just calculating these

last few numbers, so bear with me caller.

349

:

And...

350

:

statistician, let's fill this gap by

completely ribbing Ben for his love of a

351

:

spreadsheet whilst he manually adds up all

of these scores.

352

:

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

353

:

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

354

:

go.

355

:

Here we go.

356

:

Oh, shut up.

357

:

Right.

358

:

So coming in at first place with 28 and a

half out of 30 is Sung J.

359

:

M and Siwoo Kim.

360

:

Big Tony at 26 and a half.

361

:

Brian Harmon at 23.

362

:

Age Maronk at 20.

363

:

John Rahm at 19.

364

:

Adekia at 18.5 and Victor in last place

with 10.

365

:

So there you are folks.

366

:

That's our eight names and where we think

they could be.

367

:

I do think that Liv would love that hunk

lad from Hunk, say his name, I'm so sorry

368

:

for being disrespectful for getting his

name.

369

:

Taichi Ko, he's from, he's from there.

370

:

Oh, for sure.

371

:

Like he's definitely playing in the

promotions event.

372

:

That's confirmed.

373

:

I think we're gonna have a very, very

heavy contingent of Asian tour players and

374

:

sort of players from that part of the

world in that particular event.

375

:

No, Taichi Ko though, like he went to

college at Notre Dame.

376

:

Like he's, he.

377

:

Knows the American market.

378

:

I think he's really personable.

379

:

Like I've seen him at the.

380

:

Hong Kong Open doing some promotional

stuff for the Asian tour.

381

:

I think that he could be a huge get like I

know he isn't a household name yet.

382

:

He's very young.

383

:

But nice.

384

:

But I do think that Teche could be a great

get.

385

:

And if we're talking like, you know.

386

:

Like even if he doesn't make it through

the promotions event, like I can see him

387

:

being a really important addition sometime

in the next year or two.

388

:

So we'll have to see.

389

:

Well Mark, I've scratched my itch.

390

:

Move on with the rest of the show.

391

:

Can I touch really quickly?

392

:

Can I touch really quickly on John Rom?

393

:

One of the things I look, this is an, it's

an important thing.

394

:

It's an important thing that I want to

sort of get out there.

395

:

You know, we obviously talked a lot about

John Rom last episode and I'm not going to

396

:

go into detail.

397

:

I do want to put this out there for folks

that

398

:

Look, it's very clear that live kind of

wants to follow this F1 model for building

399

:

teams and things like that.

400

:

One of the things people need to sort of

keep in mind when it comes to this is the

401

:

fact that the equipment companies and sort

of, uh, the, the really big, uh, golf

402

:

specific sponsors have not really been

part of this process yet.

403

:

I think that is a door that's about to

swing open.

404

:

So if we are going to start to build these

teams and maybe add in some additional

405

:

branding from some equipment

manufacturers, I think that could be part

406

:

of the whole John Ron process.

407

:

It could be part of building sort of him

starting to, uh, to build a team in his

408

:

image that includes Cal is a sponsor and

some of his other sponsors that are very,

409

:

very tied into, you know, the professional

golf.

410

:

So, and all of this could be sort of

coalescing.

411

:

That's part of the reason why I'm not sure

if it's gonna happen for next year, except

412

:

if you project this out 2025, I think that

that's kind of the look that Liv is gonna

413

:

go for.

414

:

Again, speculation, but I was telling

somebody the other day, I'm like, this is

415

:

kind of putting, it's like putting

together a puzzle where you have half of

416

:

it completed and the rest you kind of have

to figure out for yourself.

417

:

So until we continue to get more

information, which is gonna come probably

418

:

in the next, you know, a few months to a

year's time, I just want everybody to sort

419

:

of keep this in mind, keep an open mind

about all of this, that there's a lot

420

:

still to come from this whole live team

model that TGL is also gonna tap into as

421

:

well.

422

:

I don't disagree with the sponsors and the

equipment as well, just to kind of wrap up

423

:

on that one.

424

:

I think if you look at the brand of Lib,

and if you look at any brand, especially a

425

:

brand, it sort of touches on that kind of

tongue in cheek banter Ben and I were

426

:

having on Twitter earlier, go and look

that up.

427

:

It's interesting that if you have

something that is so conditioned to being

428

:

the same for such a long time, and in this

particular context I'm just about to talk

429

:

about,

430

:

We've all seen the brands adorn in every

part of every single golfer for the last,

431

:

you know, Lord knows how long.

432

:

Suddenly to move to Liv and suddenly to

when you took, if you switch Liv on the CW

433

:

or on YouTube over here in the UK, you

don't see Callaway so much.

434

:

You don't see Ping.

435

:

You don't see the sponsors.

436

:

You might not notice it, but

subconsciously, that is a huge part of

437

:

what feels.

438

:

like a missing part of the live brand is

that it can only be legitimate if Phil

439

:

wears what Phil wears.

440

:

And it's whether that's right or wrong.

441

:

There's no doubt about it that someone

that's a 30 year Phil fan suddenly sees

442

:

him playing something else and he doesn't

look like Phil in that regard.

443

:

It affects the brand.

444

:

There's no doubt about it.

445

:

It's almost it's there's something missing

and you can't quite place it.

446

:

You don't know what it is.

447

:

And all these little things just add up,

you know, these little, so I, I think

448

:

That's a huge part of Liv's legitimacy for

the traditional golf fans.

449

:

And whether we want the traditional golf

fans to give a shit about Liv, who really

450

:

cares?

451

:

Liv wants that.

452

:

Of course they do.

453

:

You know, there's only so far you can grow

the game by attracting new fans.

454

:

We all know getting new people into golf

is harder than switching people who

455

:

already love golf to watch Liv.

456

:

That's, that's a fact.

457

:

So I think that's huge, Jay.

458

:

I think that's a huge thing getting the

sponsors and the equipment manufacturers

459

:

on board.

460

:

I, I think that would.

461

:

radically change the way that the whole

lived brand was perceived.

462

:

Yeah, I completely agree.

463

:

Yeah, but more importantly than that, I've

just worked out our assurity points as

464

:

well.

465

:

So if you go from what we've given, we had

a total of 80 points to give out.

466

:

I gave out 59 and a half, Mark gave out 57

and a half, and Jay gave out 57.

467

:

Listeners, people who've new to the

YouTube show that didn't see me last week,

468

:

you can expect more of this crap from me.

469

:

He loves a bloody spreadsheet.

470

:

He loves a spreadsheet.

471

:

All right, from one insanely challenging

thing to talk about spreadsheets to an

472

:

insanely challenging thing to say the

world, what is it?

473

:

Because I still forget it, Worldwide

Technology Championship, was that what it

474

:

was last week?

475

:

Yeah?

476

:

My word.

477

:

Oh, dear.

478

:

look, I got to get, get this in.

479

:

This is something that's like, it really

grinds my gears about the PJ tour.

480

:

And it's something that I have been on

this block for a long time.

481

:

They've got to figure something out with

these names, like these names of these

482

:

tournaments.

483

:

I get that look, title sponsorship is a

big thing.

484

:

I totally get that that's a huge revenue

source for them.

485

:

And it's great exposure for these

companies.

486

:

The problem is for like hardcore fans,

it's like, it's impossible to keep track

487

:

of these names year to year.

488

:

Like nobody knows what the worldwide

technologies championship was like last

489

:

year or two years ago.

490

:

Like they need to do this model just like

live is doing where you have, uh, you

491

:

know, live Singapore presented by, uh,

resorts world, like something like, like

492

:

that, like you need to have some identity.

493

:

to these events.

494

:

The players championship presented by

whoever.

495

:

The Arnold Palmer Invitational presented

by MasterCard.

496

:

Like that's the direction that you need to

go in with these very with specifically

497

:

with the signature events that are

supposed to be the top events on your

498

:

schedule.

499

:

These events need an identity like you're

already losing sponsors.

500

:

Uh, like the Honda classic that we've

known for 40 years is going away.

501

:

Like they're not calling it the Honda

classic anymore.

502

:

I think they're calling it the classic.

503

:

The classic at like Palm beach or

something like that.

504

:

Maybe that's the direction you need to go

in.

505

:

Like there needs to be an identity to

these events, especially if you're going

506

:

to be turning over sponsors every few

years.

507

:

So I think this is some, something that

like, they need to like figure it out,

508

:

especially with everything that's going to

happen.

509

:

You know,

510

:

uh, with the merger and sort of everybody

coming together, if you're going to have

511

:

this umbrella, uh, corporation that has

these really important events, like you

512

:

have to have some policy that, okay, we've

got these really important events.

513

:

We need every single event to have a very

specific identity that can't flip every

514

:

few years if we lose a sponsor or we get a

new one.

515

:

So I think this is something that's like

really, really important to like the

516

:

success of this because.

517

:

If you can't name the event, like how was

it supposed to be important to us?

518

:

So, yeah.

519

:

So at least live, every event has an

identity based on location.

520

:

These other PJ tour events have no

identity whatsoever.

521

:

And I think the identity is such a because

the PGA tour, like I said last week, to

522

:

me, the PGA tour is only stale when

there's not that much going on.

523

:

So it's like this time of year, it gets a

little quiet because we all know.

524

:

We all know that we know the schedule.

525

:

However, I'm still as turned on by the

players.

526

:

I'm still as turned on even by the Honda.

527

:

I'm still as turned on by the farmers.

528

:

I'm still as turned on by any of the

things that don't change from a branding

529

:

perspective, the waste management and so

on and so forth.

530

:

I was turned on by those as I've ever

been.

531

:

And it's why the majors hold such appeal

outside of the top players playing there.

532

:

It's not about necessarily just the top

players.

533

:

It's about the fact that once every three

months through summer or two months,

534

:

whatever it is, we get together and we

play the branded major.

535

:

It's the open.

536

:

It's the U S open at Riviera, wherever the

masters, you know, perhaps the, the

537

:

biggest kind of brand out of them all.

538

:

I do think that's such an important thing.

539

:

You see it with like soccer stadiums and

stuff in the UK.

540

:

I don't give a shit whether it's the

Reebok Stadium or whatever the Bolton's

541

:

called.

542

:

Now I just don't know.

543

:

I don't care.

544

:

And it's such a, it's such a vital part, I

think of the next evolution of golf,

545

:

because you want, I want to, I want to say

to my mate that I talked about last week

546

:

who goes and loves virtual golf and a

range as much as he loves going out on the

547

:

course, I want to say to him, do you want

to come down the sim?

548

:

We'll get a few beers on.

549

:

We'll tell the missus that we're working.

550

:

And you want to watch the waste management

because it's a right old do, you know, and

551

:

it's next year.

552

:

I don't want to be saying, do you want to

come and watch the, uh, you want to come

553

:

and watch the, uh, foot locker, PGQ, BBC

six, invitational.

554

:

What's that?

555

:

Oh, it's the one we watched last, last

year, but it's just different now.

556

:

So I get it, man.

557

:

I think brands vital, um, in, in that

regard, Ben, what have you got to say on

558

:

this?

559

:

Are you still, are you just doing formulas

and stuff, mate on your spreadsheet?

560

:

if you don't like a pivot table, can we

even be friends?

561

:

Um, he'll find it's like, I'll find as

I've struggled at time with pivot tables

562

:

and I have thrown stuff.

563

:

Um, I think you two have been a bit harsh

on it.

564

:

I think the PGA tour has always had what

some more well-known names and some less

565

:

well-known names.

566

:

I I've said before, while I'm a huge fan

of live, I love the PGA tour.

567

:

I, I watched, I watched a fair bit of the

568

:

Um of the worldwide technology champion.

569

:

I've got one thing that has annoyed me

about it, which i'll talk about in a

570

:

moment But I actually was a great event

And I kind of disagree with you both while

571

:

I agree on the branding piece What i'll

say is that pj tour has always had 10 to

572

:

15 events in yugo.

573

:

What's that called?

574

:

But you don't worry because you just dial

in and tune in to watch it because that is

575

:

the golf that's on However with live and

with some more competitive asian tour

576

:

events like the one we got this week

577

:

there's now needs to maybe be a bit more

branded, but I, I kind of taking the other

578

:

side of the fence to you wasn't that what

I want to talk about firstly is Eric van

579

:

Woyen.

580

:

What a fantastic win.

581

:

What an absolute to shoot nine under, um,

nine under 63 was fantastic.

582

:

And obviously it was, it was done.

583

:

And he put it in sort of accredited it to

his, his dear friend here, he and his

584

:

caddy.

585

:

went to college with a gentleman that's

now sadly lose, as he said, he's has got

586

:

cancer and is going to lose the battle.

587

:

So we've all lost people from cancer,

whatever else it might be in, in time.

588

:

I just like to say, well done, Eric, I'm

winning that and giving that message

589

:

across Eric van Royen, by the way, is, is

the one name I felt might have gone to

590

:

live last year to be part of the stingers.

591

:

I was very vocal.

592

:

I thought that was a nailed on.

593

:

I thought he would go, um, do the stingers

need to make a change?

594

:

I would say they probably don't.

595

:

They've got a really good brand and really

good mix and, um,

596

:

I think they got rid of, um, to play C and

got in a Dean Burmester Mr.

597

:

And I think that they've, they've solid

solidified up.

598

:

I want to have, I want to just have a

moment's pause.

599

:

I thought the event was really good.

600

:

I thought the course looked really good in

many ways.

601

:

It wasn't as difficult as people maybe

should be talking about, but Matt Kutcher,

602

:

how many of us have been where Matt

Kutcher was standing?

603

:

Listeners to the show will know I'll talk

about when I lost my club for

604

:

championships done the eight T at manor

house castle Coon when I bought it and

605

:

threw it away.

606

:

But not told you that before.

607

:

Yeah.

608

:

Matt Couture, how often have we been

there?

609

:

Everybody, when you think all I've got to

do is just get this up this slope and I'll

610

:

be fine.

611

:

And he's gone from winning a tour, leading

a tournament, but was he leading by two or

612

:

three, I can't remember to then dropping

down to tied for first place, having

613

:

dropped four shots.

614

:

We've all been there.

615

:

Matt Couture.

616

:

moment of silence for you.

617

:

We've all been there.

618

:

If there is a golfer in the world that

laughed at him and didn't feel for him,

619

:

then you aren't my friend because we've

all been there and cooch.

620

:

Was it like literally four, maybe five

inches from staying up and

621

:

time it was it was it was we were all just

heading hands like, oh, mate, every short

622

:

light.

623

:

And you're right.

624

:

It wasn't a you know, like you see a lot

of memes and a lot of people like in

625

:

soccer or football or whatever.

626

:

You get a lot of people who should have

put that in from now.

627

:

I could have put that in.

628

:

No golfer was doing that.

629

:

You're just like, oh, mate, not again,

mate.

630

:

Oh, man.

631

:

You're right, man.

632

:

We've all been there.

633

:

And then you're just willing the guy to

chip in every time.

634

:

You're like, come on, you can do it here.

635

:

Oh, bogey.

636

:

Come on, hero double.

637

:

Look, it happens to everybody.

638

:

I, as some of the plays in a fair amount

of higher level amateur events here in the

639

:

US, certainly happened to me.

640

:

I've certainly made my share of sevens and

eights.

641

:

Not necessarily when I was leading by six

or something like that, but no, it does

642

:

happen.

643

:

I mean, it's one of those things that you

just never know.

644

:

You never know when it's gonna happen,

which is part of the reason why, you know,

645

:

when somebody has a...

646

:

a really big lead.

647

:

This is something that Tiger was really

big on.

648

:

Like when he had a eight shot lead, like

he went to make it a 10 shot lead.

649

:

Like if he has 10, he wants to make it 12.

650

:

Because you just never know what's going

to happen that last day, especially on

651

:

some of these courses where even though

they appear very easy because of the

652

:

scores or that are being shot are super,

super low.

653

:

Look, there's danger out there on a lot of

use holes.

654

:

Like you just never know.

655

:

All it takes is one bad like snap hook tee

shot and all of a sudden you're reteeing

656

:

and like you're struggling to make double.

657

:

And that's exactly what happened to

Kutcher.

658

:

So, you know, these things happen.

659

:

You just gotta be prepared for it.

660

:

Look, Matt is a, he's a veteran.

661

:

He actually responded pretty well.

662

:

Like after he made the...

663

:

Yeah, he bogeyed the next hole, but it was

a really different, difficult hole.

664

:

But the last day, I mean, he shot, even

with that quad, he shot 67 in that third

665

:

round.

666

:

And then the last round he shot 66.

667

:

So look, there's a lot of criticisms about

that course.

668

:

I think that it's obviously a Tiger Woods

design.

669

:

I think that it was designed to have more

wind than they had.

670

:

uh, that particular week, like there,

there weren't really any conditions.

671

:

So it was like, kind of like shooting

darts.

672

:

And I think that that's why the scores

were solo, but, uh, look, it looked like

673

:

an interesting course, um, weren't really

a ton of spectators, but that's kind of

674

:

what to expect that a lot of these resort

courses, like, look, we're going to see

675

:

that at the hero, uh, next month in the

Bahamas, we're going to see it at century.

676

:

at Kapalua in January.

677

:

So it's like when people start posting

these things about Liv not having that

678

:

many fans at like Jetta, let's say, I just

want all those fans to like just shut up

679

:

because this is, I could pull, this isn't

the only PJ tour event where there's very,

680

:

very little spectators.

681

:

I could probably name five or six.

682

:

genuine question, why are you bothered

what they say about attendance?

683

:

You and I have been to live events.

684

:

We know the attendance is really good.

685

:

It wasn't great last year as they were

building up.

686

:

It wasn't good at Jeddah cause it's 60

minutes from Jeddah.

687

:

And it was 40 degrees with very little

shade and no public transport to it.

688

:

So I don't even entertain it.

689

:

Don't worry about it, Jay.

690

:

Honestly, just let it go.

691

:

Let it go.

692

:

You guys get super mad though.

693

:

You get super mad.

694

:

Like I would imagine that your frequently

used emojis are like the clown one.

695

:

Cause you love a clown on the Twitter.

696

:

You boys are like, just sit there.

697

:

Like I'm sat there thinking to myself,

right?

698

:

I'm going to nip to the old bathroom.

699

:

First thing eight 30 on a morning when I

get up, just joking boss, six 30 and

700

:

that's start work by eight promise.

701

:

Get up there, fly down.

702

:

I'm like, this is great.

703

:

I'm going to fire up the old Twitter.

704

:

Clown clown clown.

705

:

Scoot this I'm going on Instagram.

706

:

It's true.

707

:

That is one of my most frequently, I was

looking at my most frequently used emojis.

708

:

me.

709

:

You are worse to me.

710

:

I don't care what people say about

tournament attendance.

711

:

I've been there.

712

:

I've been there and they have no more

space to get people in London.

713

:

Saturday and Sunday sold out.

714

:

I don't care what anyone says about

attendance to live event.

715

:

It just doesn't bother me.

716

:

it's not like I care but like and look

I've made a commitment like last year that

717

:

I was gonna be better on Twitter and not

really engage with a lot of it.

718

:

I'm haters.

719

:

But I gotta admit like I enjoy it.

720

:

Sometimes I love I love to body back these

guys because somebody was coming at me

721

:

actually.

722

:

Yeah, it was cult knows Again, coming at

me on Twitter.

723

:

As like look

724

:

Colt needs to realize that like if he's

gonna start some of these conversations,

725

:

like I'm gonna finish it.

726

:

So he just needs to be very careful about

this the shots that he's taking at live

727

:

the shots he's taking at live players

because he does it very frequently and

728

:

He's not the only person in the

establishment that does

729

:

Liv?

730

:

You need to hear that from me.

731

:

I don't know.

732

:

Yeah.

733

:

We might want to seek clarification if

Colt definitely did or did not have a

734

:

conversation with Liv about working for

them.

735

:

We might want to see.

736

:

Golf Club on Twitter.

737

:

Let us know.

738

:

asking for clarification.

739

:

I don't know these things.

740

:

Maybe he should address that publicly.

741

:

That's a good idea.

742

:

at GLU Golf Club on the Twitter.

743

:

Or the comments if you are watching this

on YouTube.

744

:

Right, switch gears a little bit.

745

:

And we're going to talk TGL.

746

:

We've got some Bostoners, Bostonites.

747

:

You're American, Jay.

748

:

What do you call them?

749

:

I think it's Bostonians.

750

:

So just, I'm fine.

751

:

Yeah.

752

:

And as someone that hates Boston, I know

that very well.

753

:

Bostonians.

754

:

So we've got the Boston team, and

everyone's taking the mick out of the frog

755

:

logo.

756

:

What's wrong with you guys?

757

:

I thought that logo was all right.

758

:

I bloody love a frog.

759

:

logo.

760

:

Got no issue with names at all.

761

:

But if you slagged off the fireballs logo

and you were rude about the crushes logo,

762

:

you can't then all be like, oh my God,

isn't the Boston golf common logo amazing?

763

:

Oh God, don't they identify with the

Boston common?

764

:

No, no.

765

:

Oh, I don't know the fireballs one is

like, you know, when you get like an

766

:

online logo generator, and it's like,

here's a sample logo for you to customize.

767

:

It's a fireball.

768

:

No, I wish it.

769

:

So someone that lives gone, right?

770

:

Just Google.

771

:

Everyone's like, just Google logo

generator, do the fight.

772

:

Just put in fireball, that'll be fine.

773

:

No one on notice.

774

:

Do you know I'm loving about this one as

well, Jay.

775

:

So for you listening on Spotify and Apple.

776

:

You won't get this, but for you watching

on YouTube, Ben just forgot that we're on

777

:

YouTube and went and just left.

778

:

I went to get this.

779

:

This is the only logo that I think in Live

I don't really get.

780

:

This is the Ripper's logo.

781

:

This is the only one I went to get.

782

:

I've got a hat for each team.

783

:

This, that, it's not.

784

:

things being ripped forward at pace.

785

:

Mmm.

786

:

There's five on there anyway.

787

:

Oh shit, I don't get that logo.

788

:

Apparently there's some relation to the

Australian flag, like the cross in that.

789

:

I heard Cam Smith talk about it.

790

:

I don't really get it.

791

:

I'm not an Australian.

792

:

I know very little about Australia, but I

do know the flag.

793

:

I know it's got like a cross there.

794

:

I don't know how that equates to the

Ripper logo exactly.

795

:

Union Jack in it, which is the greatest

flag of all time and proudly flew over

796

:

your nation for a long time Stop list

797

:

in a magnificent segue.

798

:

Wonderful news.

799

:

Thank you ever so much for that one.

800

:

Back to Boston, all right.

801

:

Boston Tea Party, Independence, we've done

the full circle!

802

:

at!

803

:

There we go.

804

:

That's what I was getting at.

805

:

Ha ha ha.

806

:

Look, this actually ties directly into the

TGL stuff.

807

:

Look, one of the things about golf

culture, and I get it golf

808

:

traditionalists, they hate anything new.

809

:

It doesn't matter what the Boston team is

called.

810

:

It doesn't matter what the logo is.

811

:

It did.

812

:

No, that stuff matters.

813

:

People are going to hate on it.

814

:

That's just how, how it is like,

especially here in America.

815

:

It's like, um, any other sport.

816

:

If a team is changing names, like we just

went through this whole thing the last

817

:

five years where the.

818

:

Washington Redskins, which is one of the

traditional, you know, NFL teams here in

819

:

the United States, and Ben knows well as a

Cowboys fan, they went through this whole

820

:

transition where they were the Redskins

and with one of the worst logos ever.

821

:

I mean, one of the most offensive logos

probably I've ever seen.

822

:

Yet they've continued, they continue doing

that.

823

:

Then eventually they were like, okay,

we're gonna change it.

824

:

They went to the Washington football team.

825

:

People hated that.

826

:

They've gone to the Washington commanders.

827

:

People hated that.

828

:

So it's like, it doesn't matter what the

logo or the names are, people are gonna

829

:

hate on it.

830

:

That's just how it is.

831

:

That being said, when I saw it, and I saw

Rory and Keegan and Terrell and Adam Scott

832

:

come out in like a branded Boston commons

hoodie, even though I dislike Boston, I

833

:

was like, I would wear one of those

hoodies.

834

:

I'm not gonna lie.

835

:

Well, this is what they did pretty well,

isn't it?

836

:

The brand, I think the branding for TGL is

actually really good.

837

:

It's it's all good.

838

:

Yeah, I'm excited for it, man.

839

:

Yeah, I'm excited for it.

840

:

I think it will be a two hours on a Monday

for us to watch or Tuesday morning over a

841

:

beer.

842

:

Nine a.m.

843

:

I think it'd be great.

844

:

I think it'll be really interesting to

see.

845

:

And people are down on some of the

rosters, but like this is again, one of

846

:

those things like it doesn't need to have

like the best.

847

:

24 players in the world, I mean, would it

be way better if it had like just even one

848

:

live team or like three or four players

from live?

849

:

Absolutely.

850

:

Like if this had like, look, I know TGL

only has 23 players now.

851

:

if they were to bring in, if they were

gonna say, oh, our 24th player, despite

852

:

everything that you've heard, our 24th

player is gonna be Bryson DeChambeau.

853

:

Immediately, it goes from here to here.

854

:

Just having Bryson on there, it's probably

not gonna happen.

855

:

It's a pipe dream for me.

856

:

But I think Bryson in Simulator Golf is

must watch TV.

857

:

Any...

858

:

uh, more than almost anybody else that

they have outside type.

859

:

So, yeah.

860

:

Do you think the, well, I can't wait for

the responses that we're gonna see as well

861

:

to this, because you're gonna get a lot of

people on Twitter, X, whatever, that will

862

:

be like, they've definitely rigged Tiger's

numbers.

863

:

He can't hit it that far.

864

:

Aren't they?

865

:

Like, well, let's just call that straight

away.

866

:

They won't quam anyone else's, but he

can't hit it that far.

867

:

Look how old he is.

868

:

He broke his leg.

869

:

He can't do it.

870

:

saying that in the match last year, where

was him and Rory against JT and Spieth,

871

:

they were showing him hitting 180 ball

speed.

872

:

Oh, they've definitely rigged those track.

873

:

I'm like, no, Tiger can still get it out

there, even with a bad back and one good

874

:

leg.

875

:

He's still generating speed.

876

:

He's figured out, that's why he's such a

golfing genius, because no matter what

877

:

state his body is in, he figures it out.

878

:

That's why...

879

:

Like you could never really rule out him

winning any tournament or anything like

880

:

that, even though I've ruled out that he's

going to win another major.

881

:

But you know, you can never really

completely rule it out because he is that

882

:

good.

883

:

Like he is he just knows how to get the

ball in the hole better than anybody else,

884

:

maybe throughout the history of golf.

885

:

So.

886

:

told you and I've told you on a previous

podcast when we next have the open at st.

887

:

Andrew's Tiger will enter the back nine in

the top five It's gonna happen.

888

:

I've told you bookmark it take it to the

bank

889

:

bookmark clip generated.

890

:

Right.

891

:

Done.

892

:

We've generated that clip.

893

:

But I actually don't disagree with you on

that one, especially the opens the place

894

:

to do it.

895

:

It's a it's you know, most of the courses

are Tiger a bull in terms of walking.

896

:

So I don't disagree with that element of

it.

897

:

And it's like you said, Jay, you know, if

anyone's going to try and increase their

898

:

lead, it's going to be Tiger.

899

:

So if you do get him in that spot, you

never rule him out.

900

:

So we'll see.

901

:

We'll see.

902

:

Now, speaking of Tiger, we've got a few

minutes left before we wrap up the show.

903

:

Otherwise, I'm going to get divorced.

904

:

Not by choice.

905

:

It'll be her.

906

:

So we are a little discussion.

907

:

Ben and I had a little mass debate, which

for anyone listening is actually a

908

:

discussion on mass over on Twitter.

909

:

So go and check out our little debate,

because Tiger had a little quote where he

910

:

said he didn't understand what was going

on about when he watched live golf the

911

:

other day.

912

:

Ben, you got a little bit upset.

913

:

I was just, you know, I was just baiting.

914

:

He was a little bit upset.

915

:

I just think it's pathetic.

916

:

Like firstly, I don't believe he didn't

understand it.

917

:

He's Tiger, he's a savant, he understands

golf.

918

:

Of course he understood it.

919

:

He's also told us he's not watched live

and now he's telling us he doesn't

920

:

understand it when he does watch it.

921

:

So which of those is a lie?

922

:

Cause one of them's a lie, which is it?

923

:

Is it you don't watch it or you don't

understand it when you do?

924

:

So let's have that straight.

925

:

But also more importantly is that if there

is any hope of an agreement and I-

926

:

That comment actually for me, made me feel

there's no open agreement.

927

:

There's no hope of Piff and the PGA Tour

working together.

928

:

If you are hoping to have an agreement and

you are a player representative on a PGA

929

:

Tour, which he is, and he is Tiger Woods,

and his words matter, you don't need to

930

:

say that.

931

:

You could just say, I've tuned in a couple

of times to watch Liv, looking forward to

932

:

speaking to the Piff.

933

:

Or have you watched Liv?

934

:

Go with your original answer, no.

935

:

but he had to make a little snarky

comment, which if you're trying to have an

936

:

agreement and come together for a billion

dollars, probably don't make the snarky

937

:

comment.

938

:

The problem that I have with Tiger, and

this is very, very hard for me to say,

939

:

because look, Tiger's one of the reasons

why I got into playing golf, is one of the

940

:

reasons why I'm so passionate about golf

now.

941

:

Tiger, there's like almost nobody in golf

the last 20 years that has lied as much as

942

:

he has.

943

:

Let's just call a spade a spade.

944

:

He, I love Tiger still to this day, he

could do me wrong for the next 20 years.

945

:

I'm still gonna be a Tiger fan.

946

:

That's just how it is.

947

:

That being said, what he said about live

is a complete lie.

948

:

It's a complete and like utter lie for two

reasons.

949

:

One, we already heard from Taylor Guch

when he was at the Masters, he was talking

950

:

to Tiger.

951

:

Tiger knew everybody, he knew all about

the range goats.

952

:

He knew everybody on the team.

953

:

He knew how the format, he talked about

all that at length with Taylor Guch on the

954

:

range.

955

:

So he knows way, way more than he's led

on.

956

:

Two, Tiger was played two years of college

golf.

957

:

The live model is basically following

exactly what happens in

958

:

college golf here in the United States.

959

:

Tiger won 11 events at Stanford.

960

:

He won a five plus team events.

961

:

There is an individual leaderboard and

there's a team leaderboard.

962

:

And just like in Liv, the worst score gets

dropped out of the team.

963

:

So that's a total lie that he doesn't

understand what's going on with Liv.

964

:

Like I think that he's strictly saying

this because the interview that he did was

965

:

specifically about TGL.

966

:

He's obviously trying to pump that up

because he has a very heavy vested

967

:

interest in this.

968

:

Obviously, we've gone over that at length.

969

:

And I think people need to like, just

start parsing out these words that like,

970

:

and we got to hold these people

accountable for like flat out lying to our

971

:

faces.

972

:

So that's part of the reason why that's

the thing that really grinds my gears

973

:

about.

974

:

Tiger, this thing that grinds my gears

about Rory, it's the thing that grinds my

975

:

gears about.

976

:

J.

977

:

Monahan is the thing that grinds my gears

about the PJ tour.

978

:

Like this is part of their culture.

979

:

They continually lie to us, lie to our

faces and expect us to just take them at

980

:

their word.

981

:

And we need to stop letting them do this.

982

:

And it's something that gets me very, very

upset.

983

:

So I'm gonna leave it at that for now, but

it's something everybody, I want every

984

:

listener, anytime you hear anything coming

from the PJ tour or one of their high

985

:

level people, whether it's Tiger or Rory

or J.

986

:

Monahan or whoever.

987

:

You need to take everything they say with

a grain of salt.

988

:

I think look how much everyone's talking

about it.

989

:

If you want to get PR for your new deal,

what do you do?

990

:

You get your big guys to say some

contentious stuff and we learn about all

991

:

of the different aspects of it because we

take sides.

992

:

I think PR is a very interesting game.

993

:

And we see all the time, we see it in

politics, whether you love or loathe

994

:

Trump, there's no denying that he can

direct the conversation wherever he wants

995

:

to direct it.

996

:

And I just think that's what's going on

with a lot of these big guys.

997

:

Um, but we are a little bit out of time

for Ben and I, so we are going to love you

998

:

and leave you, which I am good to do

because I think we could talk about this

999

:

for quite a long lot more time, but, uh,

do let us know on Twitter, what you think

:

00:50:02,925 --> 00:50:04,086

is Tiger pulling our leg?

:

00:50:04,086 --> 00:50:06,087

00:50:10,870 --> 00:50:11,931

:

00:50:43,474 --> 00:50:44,794

But we will be back next week.

:

00:50:44,794 --> 00:50:46,075

We've got some interviews coming out.

:

00:50:46,075 --> 00:50:46,836

We've got a few things.

:

00:50:46,836 --> 00:50:48,136

We've got a few interesting things lined

up.

:

00:50:48,136 --> 00:50:51,678

Ben's got some really interesting players

that we're going to speak to over the next

:

00:50:51,678 --> 00:50:52,199

couple of weeks.

:

00:50:52,199 --> 00:50:53,359

And it's always fun to do this.

:

00:50:53,359 --> 00:50:57,702

So if you're enjoying it, do tell your

friends at GLU Golf Club on Twitter,

:

00:50:57,702 --> 00:50:59,162

:

00:50:59,583 --> 00:51:01,744

Jay, always a pleasure, mate.

:

00:51:01,744 --> 00:51:04,205

Thanks for more fun and shenanigans, my

friend.

:

00:51:06,406 --> 00:51:10,590

Absolutely today glad to again, we've got

the band back together.

:

00:51:10,590 --> 00:51:11,631

Everything feels right.

:

00:51:11,631 --> 00:51:12,772

Oh, right.

:

00:51:12,772 --> 00:51:17,858

Even though there's total chaos in the

golf world, there isn't chaos on this

:

00:51:17,858 --> 00:51:18,378

podcast.

:

00:51:18,378 --> 00:51:19,700

We have every everybody here.

:

00:51:19,700 --> 00:51:22,342

It's going to be a great, uh, next few

months.

always good talking to you guys.

:

00:51:26,314 --> 00:51:26,716

Love it, man.

:

00:51:26,716 --> 00:51:28,042

And Ben, much love, dude.

:

00:51:28,042 --> 00:51:29,165

Glad to have you back.

:

00:51:29,293 --> 00:51:32,876

Yeah, I tell you what, I do miss the day

drinking I was doing in America.

:

00:51:33,557 --> 00:51:37,181

I don't mind a drink, but I don't drink

really in the UK that much.

:

00:51:37,181 --> 00:51:41,727

I was drinking three or four Margaritas a

day during the day, playing golf, drinking

:

00:51:41,727 --> 00:51:43,508

three or four transfusions.

:

00:51:43,549 --> 00:51:47,312

I do miss the day drinking, but I'm much

healthier person now.

:

00:51:47,735 --> 00:51:48,155

Ha ha.

:

00:51:48,155 --> 00:51:50,079

you end it with a quad to blow the lead.

:

00:51:50,079 --> 00:51:52,685

Until next week, everyone, we will be

back.

:

00:51:52,685 --> 00:51:53,066

Much love.

:

00:51:53,066 --> 00:51:55,732

Look after yourself and enjoy your golf.

:

00:51:55,732 --> 00:51:56,693

Bye bye for now.
